While international students and young migrants have brought significant value to US society, they are often not adequately cared for or supported, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Their status as newcomers adds an additional layer of challenges to their full integration into US society. There are lots of commonalities when it comes to the challenges international students and immigrant youth face.

Our Support Model & Impact
- Uplift+ has a robust internal network that provides customized support to international students and immigrant youth in the US.
- Uplift+ is able to connect international students and immigrant youth to other relevant resources, providing guidance and support throughout the entire process.
- Uplift+ develops partnerships with other non-profit organizations and provides assistance to their international members or fellows.
- Our fellows have the option to give back by becoming donors, volunteers, or mentors.
Our Team
Ziheng Song
Founder & President
Ziheng, originally from China, founded the Uplift Youth Institute to support underrepresented international and immigrant communities in the United States. With experience in technology and finance, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Columbia University. He was also offered deferred admission to Harvard Business School to further his nonprofit venture and expand its impact.

Chun Ping Ng
Co-Founder & Vice President
Chun Ping is originally from Malaysia and currently works in the Asset & Wealth Management Division at Goldman Sachs. Previously, he worked as a senior associate at PwC. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Macquarie University in Australia and a Master’s degree in Finance from Tsinghua University.

Advisor
Anthony is a seasoned advisor with 12+ years of experience supporting C-level leaders in industries like supply chain and cybersecurity. Currently an advisor for Uplift Youth Institute and Senior Client Success Manager at Gartner, he is known for his top performance and strong client retention. He is also advancing his expertise with a Master’s in Supply Chain Management.

Treasurer & Data Analyst
Zhaolu was born and raised in China and Singpaore. As the Treasurer and Data Analyst at Uplift Youth Institute, Zhaolu Yang leverages his expertise in data analysis and financial management to support impactful decision-making. With a background in predictive modeling and a Master’s in Applied Analytics from Columbia University, he brings precision and insight to Uplift’s mission.

Stanley is a dedicated physician with a passion for “saving minds and lives.” With years of medical experience, recent USMLE completion, and a strong background in mental health advocacy, he’s eager to support youth through coaching and education. Stanley also volunteers in mental health and humanitarian work, bringing compassion and creativity to his role at Uplift Youth Institute.
