Job Opportunities
Mentor
(Time-Commitment: High)
Mentors will assist job seekers in grasping the essential steps of an effective job search and collaborate with them to put these strategies into action. To facilitate this, mentors will receive a guidebook with helpful resources. We encourage mentors and mentees to stay connected through email, phone, or video calls on a weekly or biweekly schedule, based on their availability and preferences.
Language Coach
(Time-Commitment: High)
Volunteer language coaches work individually with job seekers, either in person or virtually, to strengthen their English language abilities and boost their confidence. This support benefits job seekers both in navigating interviews and succeeding in their roles. The coaching sessions provide a chance to practice conversational skills, expand vocabulary and grammar, learn job-specific terms, and gain comfort in speaking.
Coaches and job seekers receive a program overview with clear expectations and structured lesson guides to frame each session. Pairs meet weekly for eight sessions over a 10-week period, with additional communication by phone or email as needed.
Interviewer
(Time-Commitment: Medium)
An informational interviewer connects with job seekers through phone, video, or in-person meetings to provide insights into building a career in a specific industry or company within the U.S.
The Mentorship Program spans 12 weeks, with mentors and mentees meeting weekly or every other week. We encourage regular communication between mentors and mentees by email, phone, or video, based on each person’s availability and needs.
Networking Coach
(Time-Commitment: Low)
A networking coach is passionate about connecting with others and is enthusiastic about helping job seekers enhance their networking abilities. Volunteers engage with job seekers in a supportive setting, enabling them to strengthen their networking skills and gain confidence in establishing meaningful professional connections.
Industry Expert
(Time-Commitment: Low)
An industry expert offers valuable, current insights in their field and supports job seekers or staff by sharing essential resources, pathways, and skills. They may lead industry panels, provide ongoing information and opportunities, and offer job search tips or referrals. As an expert, you’ll be added to a volunteer list and invited to support staff and job seekers when opportunities arise.
